   Introduction

This section aims to:-

• Provide a comprehensive overview of medical and non medical alcohol related problems for social workers, teachers, nurses and doctors, involved in identifying and assessing alcohol problems and giving advice for problem drinkers and their families and information about alcohol services
• Provide a backdrop to the subject of this toolkit because the general information on alcohol available for this group of professionals is sparse
